Book 2/26

If you’ve ever been a vegetable gardner, you will instantly relate to this book.

Gratitude, generousity, reciprocity, continuity, community. The myth of scarcity.

The Serviceberry, the newest book from Robin Wall Kimmerer, covers all of the above in the context of gift economies.

It’s a short read (90ish pages) and, as I’m behind on my reading goals, that is why I picked it for Book #2.

Edit: It’s actually 109 pages! I thought I was finished when I posted this, but I wasn’t haha. I finished the last 10 pages today.

However, it ended up being the perfect book to read as we Canadians collectively brace ourselves for all the unpleasantness of an unnecessary trade war instigated by the government currently ruling over our southern neighbour.

It’s a lovely book, and I recommend it.

This is not a book review.
