Blogging is going as predicted.

I spent most of my free time last week migrating all of my pictures from Facebook to Google Photos and listening to music.
I made the naive assumption that I should be able to simply embed Google photo albums into pages on this site.
No. That is not an option without extra plugins, subscriptions, and other ridiculous bloat. Because WordPress. (Also, yes, I’m looking at you, JetPack.)
I am not interested in maintaining third-party scripts, so my photos will just live in their Google albums for now until a better solution comes along.
Over the weekend I put a bunch of collections together, and they’re linked here on the Photos page.
I will keep adding to it.
What else is new?
I ask, as if anyone other than me and maybe two other people who I see in real life and talk to every day are reading this.
As promised, I’ve been listening to plenty of Rush and there’s a post coming soon.
Spoiler alert: 13 albums into the studio discography, and I have a strong favourite… and it’s not one I expected to make it to the top spot. I also have some more mild opinions to share.
…
It was never my plan to listen to *only* Rush for a whole year. I’ve had some variety in my playlist to break up the prog rock.
In particular, Leonard Cohen’s You Want it Darker has been on rotation while working/writing.
I grew up listening to Cohen classics. Though ‘Darker is a bit well… darker, it’s quite calming.
I love the music in the title track:
Frazey Ford, Tedeschi/Trucks, Iris Dement, Millencolin, and a couple of Puccini operas have all had regular play these days as well.
Resulting in an assortment of song fragments, all stitched together, as one big earworm stuck in my head.
…
I have three books on the go and am not clamouring toward the finish line with any of them because my brain has gone into squirrell mode until further notice.
That is all.
