I’ll aim to go for at least one bike ride per week in 2025. I set this goal in 2023 and managed, I think, 46/52 weeks that year.
I expect to have less free time in 2025, so I’ve made some allowances for this year’s goal. A “bike ride” can be any of these things:
- Cross country or downhill mountain bike ride on any mountain (preferred way to travel!)
- Gravel/flat/town ride at least 15 km.
- Indoor trainer ride at least 12km.
Thanks to a motivated mountain biking friend, who is always excellent company and inspiration on the trails, I got out on my first ride of 2025 last night. We mounted up our lights and rode on a crisp Winter night. Can’t think of a better way to start the riding year.
Thoughts: Surprised and fascinated by the sharp decline in my fitness since going on regular mtb rides in the Summer. I’m looking forward to improvements with each weekly ride, and hopefully a few other activities in between.
