We’ve reached and surpassed the halfway point of 2025. WHAT. Seriously.

In January, when there’s not a lot going on in practice, it seemed like a good idea to pledge a certain number of things and posts—an easy endeavour, even.

And then life happened, and Spring came along, so I’m actually doing the riding more than writing about it, and, because I’m incredibly fortunate, there is no shortage of great people to ride with. But the blog posts have certainly fallen behind. I expect this is the posting pace for the foreseeable future.

(Not that anyone other than me is actually reading this, so I’m not sure who I’m talking to. Maybe future people of the internet?

“Wow, life was pretty boring in 2025.”)

ANYWAY…

Ride 25 was a new-to-me route on a familiar hill with so much lush green to marvel at, I didn’t spot the stinging nettle in time and ended up wearing that mistake for 24 hours or so. Ouch. But worth it.

Ride 26 took us up country to a fun cross-country route in a kind of desert/wild flower/pine tree terrain. Absolutely beautiful and with a great group of people.

There was a second week 26 ride that I won’t write much about because I rode like I’d just learned how to pedal. Sometimes it’s just not my best ride. There will be a third ride tomorrow at one of my favourite places and I’m looking forward to redemption.

Life is good.

Unrelated, I’ve had this stuck in my head for the past week.
