Ride 6/52

… thanks to adventurous friends and the gift of a long weekend, I did manage my first cross-country ski of the year

[week 7]

Last week I attempted, three times, to complete an indoor/stationary bike ride that would meet my self-imposed 12km rule and count as a “weekly ride” toward the goal. Combined, I rode about 18 km, but on three separate days.

I couldn’t get it, so last week is officially not on the counter for the year.

This week may also not get in there. The weather has not been condusive to mountain biking at all. Trails have been covered in snow and ice, then melting snow and ice, and topped with heavy rain.

But, thanks to adventurous friends and the gift of a long weekend, I did manage my first cross-country ski of the year covering just under 10km with a lot of uphill. My watch estimated a 1400 calorie burn, which I think is grounds for including the weekly ride stats.

Plus, the friend group originated out of a shared love of biking, so this is a Pedal Bite clip.

My blog my rules.

Life is good.
