Race day!
A few months ago, after swearing I’d NEVER enter a certain race, I decided to enter that very race. Because I am me.
Now it’s three or four months and many practice runs later.
Even the race has come and gone. We gave it our all today.
The weather stayed dry for the majority of our route, but only after bucketing with rain for the two days prior, and completely sogging up the trails. It was a brutal start on the first climb and I questioned whether I would meet my goal of completing the race.
Once the first leg was complete, the rest was great. We sailed through, taking less breaks than usual, and beating our practice times.
I’m tired and my knees don’t want to do any more bending today. But, otherwise, I feel great.10/10, would probably do it again.
